National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers – here we come!

This Sunday marks the start of the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers’ Annual Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. The OMNI Institute has worked with NAATP since 2016 to develop and implement their outcomes pilot program and we’re excited for the opportunity to share our expertise on the NAATP Addiction Treatment Outcomes Measurement Toolkit: The Addiction Treatment Provider Guide to Standardized Outcomes Measurement at this year’s conference.

The conference starts with an incredible honor for OMNI—Sunday night our team will receive the James W. West, M.D. Quality Improvement Award for our research, analysis, and reporting regarding the tracking and measurement of addiction treatment outcomes obtained during the three-year Outcomes Pilot Program with NAATP as well as the production of The Toolkit. The award is named in memory of Dr. West, whose personal struggle with alcohol addiction led him to develop treatments for addiction and eventually to become medical director of the nationally regarded Betty Ford Center. We are honored to accept this award and humbled to work with the NAATP members providing treatment to improve the health and lives of people with substance use disorder.

Our team will be presenting in two sessions at the conference. First, I will be discussing the value metrics bring to the practice of addiction treatment with Ashley Addiction Treatment and The Joint Commission in Quality Assurance Session Two on Monday afternoon at 3:30pm. On Tuesday morning, at 10:30am I’ll be joined by OMNI researcher, Natalie Wheeler to discuss findings from the pilot and best practices outlined in The Toolkit in General Session Four. The session will give attendees background information on the NAATP Outcomes Pilot as well as actionable insights into how to implement The Toolkit based on the experience of Sundown M Ranch – one of the eight NAATP pilot locations. Both sessions will help facilities who are interested in outcomes but aren’t sure where to start.

If you can’t make it to those sessions or have questions for a member of the OMNI team you can find us in the Exhibit Hall in booth 604. We look forward to seeing you in D.C!
