Siviwe Dlamini (she/her) | Research Fellow | sdlamini@omni.org

Siviwe Dlamini is Research Fellow at OMNI Institute, her role involving data collection and analysis, taking notes during team and client meetings, and supporting deliverable development and administrative tasks. Siviwe is a recent graduate from St. Olaf College, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies and Psychology as well as a concentration in Neuroscience. During her time as a senior there, Siviwe served as a student researcher in the psychology department, working with Dr McMillan to narrow down the characteristics of psychologically satisfying experiences. Siviwe’s time as here allowed her the opportunity to apply her knowledge in mixed methods research and gain skills data analysis and interpretation.

During her capstone class, she also supported River Bend Nature Centre with creating a grant package that would assist them with getting funds to make their trails ADA compliant, giving her experience with grant writing and budget planning. Over the course of Siviwe’s studies, her enthusiasm for the impact that urban environments have on the physical and psychological well-being of their inhabitants. She aspires to continue her journey in the research consultancy field and pursue a postgraduate degree that will better equip her to provide meaningful impact to communities.

In her spare time, Siviwe enjoys reading fiction books, taking walks, and trying out new food spots around her area and trying to recreate the food in her kitchen.

Supporting communities by creating and engaging in dynamic solutions for them is what drew me to OMNI. Keeping the core values central to the work that they do is what helps me thrive here.
