River Bridge Child Abuse Prevention
Landscape Analysis
OMNI is excited to share the publication of the River Bridge Child Abuse Prevention Landscape Analysis. The analysis, compiled by OMNI, provides a comprehensive overview of child abuse prevalence, prevention strategies, and existing gaps within Garfield County, Colorado, and the broader state. The report synthesizes epidemiological data, current prevention education efforts, and actionable recommendations to strengthen child abuse prevention and response initiatives. To develop this report, OMNI worked closely with River Bridge to identify state and local data sources related to child abuse and maltreatment as well as local, regional, state, and national prevention education.
This report synthesizes epidemiological data, evaluates current prevention education efforts, and offers actionable recommendations to strengthen prevention and response initiatives. Key findings include high rates of child abuse referrals and substantiated cases, with gaps in data from schools, law enforcement, and healthcare limiting full understanding. Existing prevention education programs lack coverage for specific areas like peer abuse and online exploitation, with limited multilingual and evidence-based training options. The report highlights opportunities to engage community stakeholders, expand training for first responders, and promote accessible, effective prevention initiatives to address systemic challenges and protect children more comprehensively.
