In 2022, the Colorado Region 4 Council contracted OMNI Institute to perform an assessment utilizing primary and secondary indicator data to better understand the opioid crisis in the region and the gaps in existing resources. Through OMNI’s evaluation efforts, it was determined that there were gaps in the availability of opioid use disorder/substance use disorder treatment services in the region. Given the assessment results, the Council selected expanding treatment services, focusing on increasing access through providing transportation services for the next two years.

OMNI has continued our collaboration with Region 4 and served as the evaluation partner, evaluating two grantees, Centennial Mental Health Center and North Colorado Health Alliance. Both organizations received funding to expand existing transportation services for individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorder. These two evaluation reports provide a detailed account of the grantees' activities during the first quarter (Oct-Dec 2023) and second quarter (Jan-March 2024) of the grant period.
