Pestering Phone Calls?
The OMNI Institute is a small research, evaluation, and capacity building consultancy firm based in Denver, Colorado. Our work accelerates positive social change by supporting public, nonprofit, and philanthropic organizations focused on human development, public and behavioral health, and adult and juvenile justice.
We do not make robocalls, rather another entity is using our phone number without our permission through a tactic called ID spoofing to make it appear that the call came from our offices.
There is an additional entity, with a name similar to ours, who is scamming callers by offering gift cards for a fee and then never sending a gift card. Again, this is not the OMNI Institute.
We have contacted the appropriate authorities, including the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Trade Commission for assistance on the matter. If you are receiving these calls, it is important that you file a complaint with the FCC and FTC as well, particularly if your number is on the Federal Do Not Call List.
Our hope is that with more complaints filed, the authorities will take the appropriate action sooner.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
