Strengthening Early Identification and Prevention of Substance Abuse

PROJECT

Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Evaluation

DESCRIPTION

As part of the Colorado Division of Behavioral Health's SBIRT project, OMNI developed an online database to support point-in-time screening by healthcare workers and has conducted follow up studies to examine intervention outcomes. For more info: http://www.improvinghealthcolorado.org.

Building Community Leaders and Stronger Communities to Prevent Social Problems

PROJECT

Regional Prevention Services (RPS)

DESCRIPTION

The Colorado Division of Behavioral Health's RPS project is housed at OMNI to provide each of six regions of the state with region-based consultation, technical assistance to coalitions and strategic planning efforts, and access to technologies that support local collaboration. Unifying Public Agency Systems Serving Colorado Communities

PROJECT

Collaborative Management Program Evaluation

DESCRIPTION

The Colorado Department of Human Services administers CMP (or HB 1451, the Colorado house bill which established the program) to improve public services delivered to families through local systems of human services, education, and justice. OMNI works with participating counties to evaluate performance on legislative goals, including use of an online Efforts to Outcomes™ system. Monitoring the Health of Colorado’s Youth

PROJECT

Healthy Kids Colorado Survey (HKCS)

DESCRIPTION

HKCS provides reliable information about youth health behavior at the local level. OMNI works with the state partners and school districts throughout the state to support administration of the local survey, its reporting and use by local groups. For more info: http://hkcs.omni.org.

Creating Alternatives to Youth Incarceration

PROJECT

Colorado Diversion Program Evaluation

DESCRIPTION

The Colorado Division of Criminal Justice administers a statewide diversion program that supports local district attorneys in offering community alternatives to the prosecution of youth in the juvenile justice system. OMNI evaluates this state program, working with local diversion programs to report youth services and program outcomes through the Efforts to Outcomes™ system. OMNI also examines state level outcomes on recidivism.

Advancing Early Childhood Care and Education

PROJECT

Early Childhood Care and Education Evaluation

DESCRIPTION

OMNI is the evaluator of two Colorado projects funded by Mile High United Way to promote early literacy, the University of Denver’s Bridge Project and Colorado Humanities. The Bridge Project targets early literacy among residents of complexes operated by Denver Housing Authority, while Colorado Humanities works with providers statewide to improve the reading experiences of young people in teaching and home settings. As the selected evaluator, OMNI works closely with Mile High United Way, its technical assistance team, and early literacy programs to meet rigorous federal Social Innovation Fund standards for building the evidence base.

Testing the Efficacy of Addiction Treatment through Research

PROJECT

The National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP) Outcomes Pilot Program

DESCRIPTION

NAATP is engaged in a pilot research program to test the efficacy of inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment. Multiple addiction treatment centers from across the United States will be collaborating to contribute to the research. OMNI has partnered with NAATP to implement the research, including utilization of common instruments and development of a centralized online data collection system.
